Episode 29 : Oktoberfest

This week we talk Oktoberfest, and drink a fantastic Oktoberfest lager from Spaten-Franziskaner-Bräu.

Oktoberfest starts September 17! We talk about the history of Oktoberfest, the best way to celebrate in your local area, and when you can drink delicious official Oktoberfest beers at the Stone World Bistro!

We also argue about the ownership of Lowenbrau, until Dr. Bill sends the Wolf and ends the conversation.

Bill talks about a few of his favorite moments from the 10 years that he attended Oktoberfest and goes through some pretty awesome facts about the festival that might blow your mind!

    Hey, love the podcast.

You guys gave a nice history and overview of Oktoberfest on this one, but I would have liked more on what taste, color, smell, mouthfeel to look for in Oktoberfest beers. Even if you stuck to the six sanctioned beers, knowing what makes them different would be really helpful. A part two would be great.

  2. Mr. Koba says:

The Löwenbräu in Munich which serves beer at Oktoberfest and is one only 6 breweries officially permitted to do so – is owned by Aneuser-Busch InBev.

I’m sorry if that ruins your child hood memories of the brand. =)
